The Discover Orange Bowl

The Discover Orange Bowl is one of the most popular football games in the country. It has a long history of highlighting some of the top athletes and teams in professional football. It began a year after the city of Miami organized the Palm festival to duplicate the success of the Rose Bowl on New Year's Eve of 1933 and 1934. The Palm Festival was so successful that the city decided to team up with the University of Miami and organize the Orange Bowl every year, starting in 1935. It was originally designed to promote and boost tourism to South Florida through the annual game and the accompanying festival.

The Orange Bowl, along with the Sugar Bowl and the Sun Bowl are the second-oldest football games in the country after the famous Rose Bowl. It is one five other Bowl games along with the Cotton Bowl Classic which began in 1937. The Orange Bowl has hosted football championships games throughout its history such as the Bowl Championship Series game National Championship game and pits the Atlantic Coast Conference champion against the best pick of the BCS teams at large.

The Orange Bowl is played every year at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens in Florida. Since 2010, the Orange Bowl has taken on the namesake of its sponsor, Discover Financial which will stay in place for four years. Prior to Discovery Financial, between 1989 and 2010, FedEX was the official sponsor.

The Discover Orange Bowl

The Discover Orange Bowl is an incredible experience that goes beyond football. The game has a fantastic half-time show that always brings fans to their feet and delivers great musical performances and artists such as Kelly Clarkson, the Goo Goo Dolls, Jessica Simpson, the Doobie Brothers, Ciara and ZZ Top.

One week after the Orange Bowl is organized; the Sun Life Stadium also hosts the National Championship game once every four years on a rotating schedule with the other Bowl organizers.

Those who want to attend the highly popular Orange Bowl can get tickets on the game's website. Fans who want to make sure that they get tickets in case their favorite teams make the Discover Orange Bowl championships can reserve almost a year in advance. This also guarantees that they get the best face value for their tickets. Regular tickets tentatively go on sale the April before the January game. Tickets are then shipped to fans in early December. The Discover Orange Bowl

The Sun Life stadium also hosts the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League and also the Hurricanes team of the University of Miami. It is a state of the art stadium with all the necessary amenities such as over 2,000 flat screen television screens and 103-inch plasma screen TVs, but also two of the biggest hi-definition video boards and LED ribbon board in the world, but also tons of concessions and food services to fully enjoy the Discover Orange Bowl.
