Jungle Island is a fascinating zoological park with a wide variety of animal species. Here you will find many exotic plants, flowers and tropical and subtropical trees in addition to reptiles, mammals, birds, primates from Orangutans to Squirrel Monkeys.

Here you will encounter the extremely rare Liger which is a cross breading between a female tiger and a male lion and beautiful Bengal white tigers. Jungle Island is also known for its spectacular animal shows such as the bird show Winged Wonders, and Tale of the Tiger.

Jungle Island is open 365 days a year with operating hours being 10 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, and 10 am to 6 pm on the weekend. Extreme weather can affect the operating hours of this popular Miami attraction, this is especially common during the summer months, so if you're not sure call ahead.

Entry to Jungle Island costs $32.95 for general adult admission, and $24.95 for children admission ages 3 to 10. Children under 3 are free. Single strollers cost $7.95 to rent, double strollers $10.95, electronic convenience vehicles $30 and wheelchairs $8. Besides the main zoo there's also Jungle Island's own beach, La Playa if you're looking to cool off on a hot day. It features many inflatable fun stations for kids, and lounge chairs and drinks for adults. The park also has a café which serves cafeteria-style food, and is the only eatery on-site.

Jungle Island is located right in the middle of Miami and is very close to South Beach, downtown Miami and is right off I-395. If you want to take public transportation, you can hop on bus routes C, K, S and M to get to Jungle Island. Jungle Island Park offers discounts for senior citizens aged 65 and older with an admission fee of $30.95. Active military personnel with a proper ID get into Jungle Island for free and their families get a 15 percent discount in the admission price.



With so much to discover; animals, exhibits, exotic plants and more, Jungle Island is a great time for the entire family. For those who want to visit the park more than once, they can upgrade their one day pass to an annual passport for only $42.95 and $31.95 for children 3 to 10 which can amount to big savings. If during the day, you decide to upgrade to an annual passport, visitors can go to Guest Relations before 5 pm to get it.

The annual passport also provides you with a 10 percent discount to other Miami attractions such as the Metro zoo, the Seaquarium and the Science Museum and discounts on parking and the gift shop. For visitors who want to dole out the cash for an ultimate visit of Jungle Island, they can check out the VIP Safari packages which come with a 90-miute guided tour and cost a hefty $240 for an adult and child over 11 and $120 for children 3 to 10.

Jungle Island has something for everyone and is sure to delight children, couples, families and the lonely traveler. The Serpentarium, the Everglades reproduction, the bird exhibits, Flamingo Lake, the animal shows are just some of the few things you will discover while on Jungle Island. If you're traveling with a group, the park offers special group rates and tours that should be reserved at least 48 hours in advance.
