If you're looking to experience some great art in Miami, then you should definitely visit the Miami Art Museum and explore all that it has to offer. Here you will find permanent collections which take a look at contemporary artists from various regions, but with a special focus on Latin American Art. The Miami Art Museum is located in the downtown Miami Cultural Center which also houses the Historical Museum of South Florida and the Miami Dade Public Library. The Miami Art Museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, the museum's operating hours are noon to 5 pm, and it is closed on Mondays. It is closed on the Fourth of July, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The MAM tends to get crowded on the weekends, so if you like quiet time at the museum, opt to go there during the week.

The Miami Art Museum is located in the downtown area of Miami and in the Miami Cultural Center Plaza. It costs $8 for adult admission, and is free for children under 12. Strollers are allowed in the museum, but they cannot be wider than 36 inches. Note that the Miami Art Museum does not permit large bags or packages, and visitors have the option of checking their bags at the front desk for free.

There's an onsite café if you're hungry and a gift shop which sells interesting specialty gifts and souvenirs. If you plan on driving to the museum, you can park your car in the Miami Cultural Center parking lot, located at 50 NW 2nd Avenue. It has six floors of parking spaces, and you only pay $5 with a museum validation. Visitors with special needs can get to the upper level gallery using the elevator, and there are also wheelchairs available at the Museum.

The Miami Art Museum is located on 101 West Flagler Street in the Miami Cultural Center Plaza in downtown Miami. It is easily accessible by public transportation. Visitors can take Metrorail or Metromover and get off at the Government Station, then just walk half a block south to the MAM. If you're driving from North, take I-95 southbound to Downtown Miami, take the 3B Exit at NW 8th St, turn left onto NW 2nd St, and turn right onto NW 2nd Ave. The museum is two blocks south. If you're driving from the South, Take I -95 northbound, exit at 2B, NW 2nd St. and turn right. Turn right again at NW 2nd Ave. The museum is two blocks south on the left side.

The Miami Art Museum offers discounts to certain groups. Senior citizens only pay $4 to get in while students with a valid ID get in for free. Miami Art Museum members also get free admission to the MAM. The Miami Art Museum is the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon. It is a great place to take kids who can get in for free if they are under 12 years of age.

If you want to save on adult admission, consider hitting the museum on a free day on the second Saturday of every month. You can also save by getting a joint ticket for the MAM and HistoryMiami for $10. Also, with a Go Miami Card, you can get free admission to the MAM.

If you want to save on food prices at the café, pack your own lunch and snacks and eat them al fresco on the grounds of the Miami Cultural Center Plaza.
