The museum features temporary exhibits, year-round planetarium laser shows, and wildlife displays.
There are a variety of temporary exhibits displayed at the museum. These exhibits change from time to time always updating information and featuring creative activities.
Since 1966, the Miami Planetarium has educated and entertained children of all ages. Its 65-foot diameter dome takes you on a journey out of this world! The SPITZ "Space Transit Planetarium" star projector which displays a replicate image of the skies as seen from planet Earth. The 231 seats of the dome accommodate large groups year-round with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The Miami Science Museum and Planetarium also houses the Weintraub Observatory which invites locals and tourists the first Friday of the month to an Observatory session via two powerful Meade telescopes. From 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm you can view the planets, some of Jupiter's moons, Saturn's rings and certain deep sky galaxies, nebulas, and stars.
MiaSci Wildlife Center where visitors can see and learn about the habitat of certain animals up close. There are also trainers and experts who can address your questions and comments.
