South Florida International Auto Show


The South Florida International Auto Show is one of the largest and renowned automobile shows in the country. It has been organized in Miami for the past 40 years. The auto show is organized between October and November for ten days. It takes place at the Miami Convention Center in Miami Beach, which has been its home since 1971.

At the time when the show took off, it only offered about 200 to 300 mostly domestic models. It was also only one of five other automobile shows in the country with Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York. Today, there are over 60 shows, but the South Florida International Auto Show is still among the biggest and prestigious in the country.

Today, the South Florida International Auto Show displays over 1,000 automobiles from over 40 of the world's most prominent manufacturers. It draws in over 600,000 visitors annually, and has become a very important show for the local economy in Miami, injecting over $50 million.




South Florida International Auto Show

Visitors to the South Florida International Auto Show can enjoy all kinds of automobiles, even motorcycles from manufacturers such as Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha. There are also many other types of displays featuring all kinds of vehicles such as cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.

Visitors can enjoy the many attractions that are available on over 1 million square feet of exhibition space. For example, the Memory Lane exhibit invites attendees to admire a large antique exposition with a wide array of classic cars. Memory Lane is sponsored by the Antique Automobile Club of America's South Florida Region. Another impressive display you don't want to miss is Million Dollar Alley which showcases extravagant and posh cars such as Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Porsche and other high-status cars.

Those who like Jeep cars can attend Camp Jeep. During the show, participants can discover the capabilities of Jeeps as trained professionals drive the 4X4s over many terrains such as steep grades and rocky trails. Those who want to drive and not just watch can head over to the Ride and Drives to test drive various new car models.


South Florida International Auto Show


An increasing number of the South Florida International Auto Show's attendees are interested in buying more compact and environmentally- friendly cars and they will encounter a great selection at the Green Way Display. Here they can find the latest in green vehicles and technology all in one convenient place.

Those who want to attend the South Florida International Auto Show can purchase tickets online at the show's website. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $3 for children from 6 to 12 years of age. Children under 6 are free. Tickets can also be purchased at the Miami Convention Center.
Since its inception in 1971, the South Florida International Auto Show has been sponsored by the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association, which began in 1933 and comprises of over 200 local dealerships. Today, the association accounts for one third of all new cars sold in all of Florida, which is the third top market for car production in the nation, coming only after only California and Texas.
