Coral Gables is a must see while visiting Miami. It is called City Beautiful for a reason and is one of the most attractive neighborhoods in all of Miami. Its many buildings and architecture transport you to Italy and Spain and have a distinct Mediterranean Revival style.

It's also the home to many well-known attractions such as the Biltmore Hotel, the Douglas Entrance and the Venetian Pool. Coral Gables and Miracle Mile are good to visit year-round, but you might want to choose days that are not too hot or rainy to fully enjoy the pedestrian-friendly streets and great outdoor architecture and attractions. If great shopping and dining is what you're looking for you may want to check the operating hours of the different shops and restaurants so you are sure to find them open. At night, Coral Gables really comes alive with its many nightlife venues, bars, outdoor entertainment and live music.

Coral Gables offers tons of activities, shopping and dining options to visitors. Here you will find all kinds of stores that sell everything you can imagine. However, since many of them are specialty stores and not national brands, the prices tend to be higher. You can also choose from almost a hundred restaurants and eateries to satisfy your craving for virtually any cuisine.

There are a mix of chains and local establishments with varying prices. Art lovers can spend hours admiring Coral Gables' unique Mediterranean-style architecture, its many galleries or catching a show at the Actor's Playhouse. At night, you can come and enjoy the area's many bars, or just walk around in a fun and lively atmosphere. Parking on Miracle Mile has become a breeze with its many new valet stations where you can drop off and pick up your car. This service costs $7 from 11 am to 6 pm and $8 on evenings after 6 pm.

To get to Coral Gables from North or West by car, you can take SR 836 to LeJeune Road/SW 42nd Avenue. Keep going south on 42nd Avenue and turn left when you get to Coral Way or the Miracle Mile. If you're coming from South, you have to take US 1 (South Dixie Highway) North until you get to LeJeune Road and then make a right onto Coral Way the Miracle Mile and you'll find yourself in the heart of downtown Coral Gables. To get here using public transportation, you can take the Miami Metrorail until the Douglas Road station and then transfer to the Coral Gables Trolley.



Each establishment in Coral Gables and the Miracle Mile has their own policies regarding senior citizen, senior and military discounts, so you should check each business for their prices. Disabled patrons with proper ID do get free valet parking throughout the day on Miracle Mile. Coral Gables and Miracle Mile are a fun way to spend the day.

While many restaurants here are on the upscale side, there are many affordable eateries such as Einstein Bros. Bagels, Denny's and Baja Fresh among many others. For high-end diners, check out Ortanique, Caffe Abbracci, or Palme D'Or. As for shopping you will find a range of shops and boutiques to cater to any budget. Bridal shops are plentiful here and tend to be one the pricey side.

Miracle Mile is the main east-west street in Coral Gables. As part as the city of Coral Gables' very own downtown, Miracle Mile is a pedestrian-friendly area inviting visitors and locals to enjoy the restaurants, boutiques, shops, and other Miami attractions. This central business district also houses a great variety of national banks.

For an upscale shopping experience, visit Village of Merrick Park where you will find the boutiques of some of the world's top designers such as Diane von Futernberg, Gucci, and Burberry among many others. The open mall is accessible through the Douglas Road Station and Coral Gables Trolley.

The world famous Venetial Pool continues to be the city's historic treasure as it was formed from coral roack quarry in 1923 and included in the National Registry of Historic Places. Fresh, cool spring water runs through the 82,000 gallon pool which includes cascades, lagoons, and caves. Its unique Venetian-style building with bridges, columns, restaurant, and sandy beach area are inviting to all visitors and locals who can refresh any day of the year.
