Miami Parking


Miami is one of the largest cities in the country and the most populous Southeastern United States. It's also a very popular tourist destination with millions of tourists coming in every year. Because of this and for many other reasons, Miami traffic can be horrendous, especially during rush hour. If you plan on renting a car or traveling by car while you're here, you will also have to face the problem of Miami parking which can be difficult to find especially in the downtown area and near major attractions. Read on for some tips on where to park in Miami.

When one thinks of Miami, South Beach is immediately conjured up in their mind. With its number of incredible beaches, amazing shopping, dining, and entertainment, there is no shortage of things to do and see while you're here. The only problem when you're driving here is trying to find on street parking spaces which are few and far in between because there's always a savvy tourist or resident ready to pounce on any available space. Some good Miami parking lots and garages in South Beach are 17th Street garage on Meridian Avenue which is not only conveniently-located but only costs one dollar per hour.

The garage on 1111, Lincoln Road is another good parking option and costs about $3 an hour. This parking garage is not just a place where to park in Miami, it's also an architectural gem and it's beautiful at night when it's all lit up. Some other convenient parking garages in the area are also Pelican Garage, Imperial Parking, Associated Parking Systems and Standard Garage, all located on the busy Collins Avenue and close to everything.

If you're looking for downtown Miami parking, stay on the lookout for parking lots operated by the Miami Parking Authority. Look out for parking lots located near the government center, the Cultural Center garage and in many other places around the the downtown. You can also find parking garages all over Brickell, Coconut Grove, Coral Way, Watson Island, Little Havana and many other Miami neighborhoods. Also look out for American Car Parks Company which also has locations all over the city.


Miami Parking


If you're looking for Miami parking near the airport, you can leave your car at the Miami Dolphin Garage which is right at the airport. Otherwise, you can park at Park Go Fly USA on Northwest 25th Street, the parking at Embassy Suites on NW South River Drive, Airport Fast Park on NW 31st Street, or the parking at the Crowne Plaza on NW LeJeune Road. All of these parking lots are a little further away from the airport, but they provide lower fares, but also free shuttle to and from the airport.

If you want to park on the street, you should know that parking costs $1.75 in most areas and that most meters only accept coins and major credit cards, and some accept bills. Before leaving your car, you should carefully read all the signs, and if you get towed, especially in South Beach, you should contact the towing company immediately, and not leave your car overnight because it can be very expensive.
